This exhibit traces the development of the Canada Post Office’s use of domestic, British and Foreign airlines to facilitate the delivery of mail matter to Foreign and Overseas destinations during the period 1925 to 1942. The cut-off date for the study was due to the introduction of Armed Forces Air Letters and Airgraphs during the Second World War that interrupted the flow of mail and the routes that were in effect pre-war.
The exhibit is divided into five sections: a) the United States; b) the Caribbean, Central and South America; Great Britain, Newfoundland and Europe; d) Near and Middle East, Africa, Indian and China; and e) Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Japan and Hong Kong.
