Hobrath, Norbert J. (2020). Canada Oval Parcel Cancels.

Norbert’s interest and collection of Canada Oval Parcel cancels started when he saw an auction postal lot for sale consisting of a few Canada Small Queens stamps with ‘unusual’ cancellations. These cancels were not the typical round circular date strikes, not squared circles, not fancy corks, and not duplexes. They were oval in shape, some with numbers in the middle of the cancels. Some were from Toronto, and others from Montreal. Some were purple, and some black. All of these were very interesting!  Winning that auction lot had him hooked and he quickly began to assembly the most detailed collection examining these cancels.
