Building upon the collection of postmarks of the District of Assiniboia initially formed by Harold Wilding of Winnipeg, over a three month period Donald Fraser manually copied the lists of Alberta, Saskatchewan Assiniboia, and Manitoba post offices from Winnipeg post office records contained in two large ledgers discovered when a new post office was built in Winnipeg. One ledger recorded the names of post offices opened in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Assiniboia from 1871-1907 and the other one recorded the post offices opened in Manitoba from 1871-1921. The result is Postmarks of the District of Assiniboia.
