A wonderful strike of the second rarest FPO militia handstamp, second only to Trois Rivieres, PQ.
The postcard (small corner crease) is the CPOR Station at St. Johns, Quebec.
Sapper Daniel Campbell Galloway (#2014643) was born in Belfast, Ireland and lived in Swissvale, PA, USA. He joined the Canadian forces in St. Jean, Quebec , March 9, 1918,
He left Vancouver aboard the SS.Monteagle from Vancouver, British Columbia on November 17, 1918 for Vladivostock and the Siberian Expeditionary Force and returned to Canada May 5, 1919, also aboard the SS Monteagle.
He was put in isolation at the hospital in St. Jean on September 20, 1918 for scabies. While in Russia, he was discharged and returned to Canada due to hearing loss.
